By Hannah Rabinowitz and Holmes Lybrand, CNNSen. Richard Burr avoided about $87,000 of losses when he sold off stock at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a 2020 search warrant affidavit unsealed on Monday. Investigators said in the warrant that because of his position in Congress, the North Carolina Republican knew about the threat of Covid-19 in February before public concern of severe economic impacts from the pandemic crescendoed. The Justice Department launched an insider trading investigation into Burr, which eventually concluded witho <a href=Link cup ut criminal charges. The warrant affidavit and other court records were unsealed following a lawsuit by the Los Angeles Times.According to investigators, the senator made a series of well-timed stock sales and sold more than 95% of the holdings in his Individual Retirement Account. By RICHARD BONNERConcerned CitizenWe are visiting Los Alamos while full-time living in our motorhome and responsibly social distancing as we travel. While camped at the White Rock Visitor Center last evening, we drove to see the town of Los Alamos and around the Highway 5 <a href=Link canada 01 to State Road 4 loop through Bandelier Monument and back to White Rock.Doing so required us to drive through a security check point on the west side of Los Alamos. How ironic and disturbing that one of our countrys preeminent science laboratories requires users of a public road to come face to face with a young security guard with no face mask or barrier, hand over identification, and converse face to face! While this security post is undoubtedly run by the federal government, which can legally ignore state law and do whatever asinine thing they choose, it i <a href=Link polska s still beyond careless and stupid, a violation of responsible state law, a horrifically ironic lapse in judgement as well as in public relations for a preeminent scientific facility to act in such a way.One hopes that the researchers who work there do not have to endure this same procedure, or it is entirely possib <a href=Link cup le that the entire lab could be shut down with a COVID-19 outbreak sooner or later!Subscribe FREE to News AlertsMake the Daily Post your HomepageMore News Like us on FacebookSubscribe FREE to News AlertsMake the Daily Post your HomepageMore News Like us on Facebook LOS ALAMOSladailypost website support locally by OviNuppi Syst Zcgf LAHA Holiday Classic Hockey Tournament Dec. 26-30

By CLAIRE RUSHAssociated Press/Report for AmericaPORTLAND, Ore. AP ?For most of her life in New Mexico, Christina Wood felt like she had to hide her identity as a transgender woman. So six years ago she moved to Oregon, where she had readier access to the gender-affirming health care she needed to live as her authentic self. Once there, Wood, 49, was able to receive certain surgeries that helped her transition, but electrolysis, or permanent hair removal, wasnt fully covered under the states Medicaid plan fo <a href=Link cup r low-income residents. Paying out-of-pocket ate up nearly half her monthly income, but it was critical for Wood mental health. Having this facial hair or this body hair, it doesnt make me feel feminine. I still look in the mirror and I see that masculine person, she said. Its stressful. It causes anxiety and PTSD when youre having to live in this body that you dont feel like you should be in. That is likely about to change. Oregon lawmakers are expected to pass a bill that would further expand insurance coverage for gender-affirming care to include things like facial hair removal and Adam apple reduction surgery, procedures currently considered cosm <a href=Link cup etic by insurers but seen as critical to the mental health of transitioning women.
